Founded in 1996, our Adaptive Rowing Program is one of the largest, most experienced and longest running in the country. We strive to: (1) Provide a safe environment in which we can share the joys of rowing with individuals with disabilities of all types; and (2) Raise the awareness of adaptive rowing on a worldwide basis through educational outreach. Our program serves all types of disabilities.  No disability is turned away. Individuals from middle school age through adulthood are eligible to participate. Our Program has served a wide range of disabilities including: Autistic, brain injured, vision impaired, amputee, paraplegic, quadriplegic, cerebral palsy, spinal bifida, cognitive impaired, intellectual impaired. Rowers are free to peruse recreational and/or competitive goals as they wish. Our volunteer staff include two coaches with 13 years of adaptive rowing experience, a physical therapist and a professionally trained adaptive physical education resource specialist. Volunteers have participated in FISA Medical and Technical Classification training.  Our athletes have participated in the Bayada Regatta, and the National Adaptive Rowing Championships since our Program's founding in 1996. In past years, athletes have competed in the Head of the Ohio, Head of the Hooch, regional indoor rowing competitions, the CRASH-B World Indoor Rowing Championships as well as international adaptive regattas.
