Since 1995, we have published the most comprehensive directories and information on rowing clubs in over one-hundred countries - including clubs, colleges, junior teams and high schools, associations, rowing businesses, coaches and referees.

Our first of eight print editions was published in 1996. In 2010, we began publishing The Rower`s Almanac as an eBook .

BHfinder.com google map search (beta), launched in July of 2009, and is the largest radius map search of its kind. Those new to the sport, or rowers who travel frequently can easily locate a rowing club within their vicinity. The data is primarily kept up-to-date by the organization or club itself; users are asked to update their information semi-annually. Users can now upload a boathouse photo and set their boathouse or club latitude and longitude coordinates. Functionality and features will continue to be added to the application.

Karen is an entrepreneur and an avid sculler. She founded The Rower`s Almanac Inc in 1995 and has published eight print editions to date.

Formerly a Husky(University of Washington) rower, elite-level sculler and four-time U.S. National Champion, Karen now rows recreationally on the Potomac River in Washington, DC. She can attest to the usefulness of the Almanac because she has used it on several occasions to find a rowing club, contact the club and arrange a row with a member of the club. As a result, she has been able to row at the Clube des Regates do Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, and Cairns Rowing Club in Cairns, Australia.

Karen is a graduate of the University of Washington, Seattle and American University with degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Business.

Elmira originally hails from Bulgaria and Argentina but calls the Washington, DC area her home now. She is a two-time Olympic rower ('88 and '92) for Bulgaria and is fluent in six languages. Elmira has lived, rowed and traveled in over 30 countries in Europe, South America, Russia and the Middle East.

She is a graduate of the University for National and World Economics in Sofia, Bulgaria in marketing. Professionally, Elmira has conducted market research and competitive intelligence for companies seeking to enter new markets in Russia and the Middle East. She also provides subject matter expertise to the national rowing survey that is conducted every four years on the United States rowing market.
